In the speech presented today at the 2019 AIPAC Policy Conference, PM Viorica Dăncilă announced that after the "full consensus" analysis is completed, Romania will move Israel's Embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem.
"I am pleased to announce today to the AIPAC audience that after the conclusion of the analysis by all the constitutional actors involved in the decision-making process in my country and in full consensus, I as Prime Minister of Romania and the Government I lead will move the Romanian embassy in Jerusalem, the capital of Israel, "Dăncilă said.
The move of Tel Aviv's embassy to Jerusalem is a matter of dispute between President Klaus Werner Iohannis and the Government of the Social Democratic Party (PSD).

It is the first time that a head of the Bucharest government participates in the AIPAC Policy Conference. The presence of Romania at this event strengthens the friendship between Romania and Israel and between Romania and the US.
Romania is the only EU country represented at the level of Prime Minister at the AIPAC Policy Conference.
The AIPAC Policy Conference is the largest gathering of America's pro-Israel community. The conference is a celebration of the U.S.-Israel partnership and the premier opportunity for every attendee to lobby their Congressional office to advance the U.S.-Israel relationship.
