Oil Terminal SA Constanta occupies a strategic position in the Black Sea Area, being the largest operator of petroleum products at sea, specialized in the circulation of crude oil, liquid petrochemicals and other products and raw materials for import / export and transit.
SC Oil Terminal is one of the oldest Romanian companies in the oil industry. It was founded in 1898, part of the most modern refinery in Europe at that time, "Steaua Romana". Over time, the company had various names and in 1990, based on law 31/1990, by Romanian Government Decision no. 1200 / 12.11.1990 was founded SC Oil Terminal SA Constanta, a joint stock company with majority state capital.

In recent years, investments have been made to provide computer-aided electronic command and control equipment.
High-precision flow meters have been purchased for the proper management of oil products, radar telemetry and double-sealed tank systems. The investment activity also included a significant number of independent equipment, laboratory equipment corresponding to European standards; the computer network has expanded both within the operational services and within the functional services.
Two gas-fired power plants have been installed to ensure the energy independence of two of the company's warehouses. It is also aimed at equipping the third warehouse with a thermal power plant.
Action is taken to increase the operational safety of the installations both by laying the above-ground, staged, the network of buried pipes, and by replacing the old pumps, for conveying the products, with new ones.
